Youth Leadership FAQs

Is there a parent/guardian consent form to complete? 
Yes. A consent form is required for all registered youth ages 18 and under. The form is available during registration in English.  

What are the age requirements? 
The Youth Leadership Courses are designed for ages 13–19. If you have an exception, please email us. 

Can youth attend Mid-Year without a parent/guardian or adult advisor? 
If you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or adult advisor. 

Do all youth attendees need their own chaperone? 
No. One chaperone may check in and be responsible for multiple youth attendees. 

Adult Advisors are required to attend Key Essentials with their youth.  

Do youth need to pre-register for specific tracks or sessions? 
Youth only need to register for the Key Essentials track.  

The breakout track sessions are first-come, first-served. Most sessions will be available at least twice throughout the week. 

What sessions are offered this year? 
Session details will be available on the session grid. Look for the “Youth” tag. 

Can adults attend Youth breakout sessions?
Youth breakout sessions are designed for youth attendees. Adults may attend if accompanying youth and there is space, but youth will be given priority. 

Are adults required to attend sessions with their youth? 
Adult advisors are not required to attend sessions with their youth unless they are in the Key Essentials track, advisors are welcome to join breakout sessions if space allows. 

What is the attire?
Casual/Business casual. 

What should youth bring?
Community data (such as youth survey data, logic model, community assessment), if available, and any costumes/props for the talent show.  

Do youth follow the same schedule as adults? 
Most sessions and lunch times align, but youth also have additional activities, including the Morning Inspirations, the Meet Up & Chill on Monday evening and the annual talent show on Wednesday.
